Fees
Engineering Outreach students pay a "per-credit" fee, rather than resident/nonresident fees. Shipping charges are included in the fees although some international students may pay extra for DVD delivery; textbooks and software are not included. Payment in full is expected at the time of registration and must be received by the first day of on-campus classes to avoid late fees (see the EO Calendar). Students are not dropped from a course due to nonpayment and are responsible for all course fees after a registration is processed. Students who intend to drop a course will continue to accrue course fees until their withdrawal request is processed.

Payments are accepted by Visa, Mastercard, or Discover credit/debit card, Web check, check, or money order. Tuition vouchers from U.S. military or corporate students are also accepted. Course or fee schedules shall not be considered as binding contracts between UI and students, and are subject to change by the Board of Regents of the University of Idaho.

Spring 2010 Course Fees
Courses numbered 100-499
$514 per credit
Courses numbered 500-599
$545 per credit
UI graduate students (regardless of course number)
$545 per credit

Credit/debit Card Payments
You may submit your credit card number with your registration form, and we will proces the payment for you, or you may pay using VandalWeb after the fees are posted. Beginning May 2005, all credit card payments that are paid using VandalWeb will generate a 2.5% transaction fee that will be added to the payee's credit card balance. This is a service charge that returns to the credit/debit card company and will not be credited to the UI or appear on any UI fee statements. Any payments for course fees processed by Engineering Outreach or submitted via the EO Online Forms System will not include the 2.5% transaction fee.

Web Check Payments
If you choose to pay online using Web check, you will enter your checking account and routing number, and the payment will be drawn from your checking account. There are no additional fees associated with using Web check.

Check or Money Order Payments
Make checks or money orders payable to "UI Bursar," and mail to:
University of Idaho
Engineering Outreach
Attn: Student Services Coordinator
PO Box 441014
Moscow ID 83844-1014

Student account information may be viewed, and payments may be made online via VandalWeb. You will need your UI student ID number and PIN to access this system. After you login, select: Student Account Information, Online Bill and Payment Form. If you cannot locate your student ID number or have forgotten your PIN, please contact our Student Services Coordinator at (800) 824-2889, press 2.

After we have processed your registration, your fees will appear on this form within 1-2 business days, and you will be able to make your payment. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REGISTER FOR ENGINEERING OUTREACH COURSES FROM THIS WEB SITE, as Engineering Outreach sections are not available for registration through this system.

EO will begin shipping course materials during the first week of on-campus classes if payment has been received. Students are not dropped from a course due to nonpayment and are responsible for all course fees after a registration is processed.

Refunds
To receive a full refund, courses must be dropped by the first day of on-campus classes. For a complete refund schedule, see Drops, Adds & Incompletes and the EO Calendar. Students are responsible for any non-refunded portion of the fees, including late fees, regardless of whether course materials have been shipped or received.

Additional Costs
In addition to registration fees, the following costs are associated with Engineering Outreach courses:

  • Textbooks: Typically $80-$120.
  • Course notes: Some courses may require the purchase of a course packet with an average cost of $20. Course packets are listed with textbooks on the UI Bookstore Web site.
  • Software: Although some courses require software that can be downloaded for free, others may require the purchase of software with an average cost of $50 - $100.
  • Internet Access: E-mail and Internet services are required for all Engineering Outreach students and their proctors.
  • Mailing Costs: Expenses to mail or fax homework and projects to instructors are the student's responsibility. These charges would probably average at least $25/course.
  • International Shipping: International students with reliable broadband internet accessibility may choose to view their lectures online, receiving a complete set of DVDs at the end of the semester, instead of receiving them periodically during the semester.  If international students do not have broadband internet service, or If they prefer to receive their DVDs throughout the semester (when they are shipped to students living in the United States), they will be charged an extra shipping fee for the Fed Ex delivery of the DVDs. Exam proctors who are located outside the U.S. receive exams from Engineering Outreach by Federal Express. Contact EO before registering to obtain an estimate, because shipping charges may vary by course and semester.
Student Financial Aid
If you are planning to use financial aid to pay fees, you must have a completed file in the Student Financial Aid Services Office. The dollar amount of the award must be verified by Engineering Outreach prior to the registration deadline. Fees will be deducted from financial aid checks, and remaining balances will be returned to you by automatic deposit or check. To determine if you are eligible for scholarships or federal financial aid, contact the University of Idaho Student Financial Aid Services Office at (800) 824-2889, press option 0, and ask for extension 6312, or visit the Student Financial Aid Web site.
